Classical Art Training
With a degree in fine art (Drawing & Painting), Dave understands the foundational principles of all graphic design. He has continued to hone these skills for decades, with a continued interest in the fine art of landscape painting. The same principles that apply to art, apply to all creative efforts—including graphic design.
Advertising
With decades of print and digital experience using Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, Dave’s ads have appeared in magazines, professional journals and local and national newspapers, including USA Today, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Print & Book Publishing
Using InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator, Dave has published everything from paperback books to newsletters and product packaging. He also has experience with the design of complex business and medical forms, flyers, business cards, mailers and more. He spent years as a graphic designer working for the newspaper industry, including the production of newspaper special sections and auto advertisers.
Websites
Work has included both personal and business websites in a variety of areas—from online books, medical devices, products and services, dog training, attorneys, authors and ecommerce for both hard and soft products like digital movies & TV shows. Dave was also the lead graphic designer for the first company that digitized newspaper ads—creating advertising portals for major newspapers around the world and in the U.S.—including the Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Examiner and the Seattle Times.
Apps
Dave designed and prototyped video streaming apps for iOS, Android and the desktop (Electron), including the encoding of video for Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH). The apps were designed for Movies & TV shows working with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and other major Hollywood studios—as well as General Motors and their connected car solutions.
